Ok I bought a Hitachi drill & flashlight combo a few years ago, right before LED's really took off.

Its a nice combo set & I dont use it because its just not very bright, but I dont want to get rid of the flashlight either, but I do want to upgrade it to LED.

here are pics of it & all of the pieces:

What are my options for conversion?

Thanks.

Option a; is pop the glass off the bulb and solder the LED to the two prongy things. You'll either need to test the current that gets to the bulb and pick an emitter that can handle it or add resisters.
Option b; find out if the Milwaukee LED conversion works for it.
Option c; hire someone?

I bought the fusion 48 for my dewalt light.
That's an easy mod though. Pop the reflector and shim the glass

Hmm I dont know enough to do option A.

Hopefully option B works for me.

Found the Milwaukee link;
http://www.milwaukeetool.com/Produc...=49-81-0090&CategoryName=SC:+Work+Light+Bulbs

Should work. It's in the dewalt 18v led conversion thread

Yeah thats exactly what I need, I found it here:

http://www.acetoolonline.com/Produc...Bulb&utm_campaign=googlebase&site=google_base

But for $40, I'm not really interested in converting right now. I dont use it that often and it would have just been nice to have upgraded, but not for that price.

Are there any other brands for less money?

Would this would on my Hitachi?

I do need to get a new reflector as the one it has is starting to rust oddly enough.

That eBay link is the fusion 48. Its made for Dewalt, I heard someone put one in a Makita light and it stopped working. I don't know anyone with a hitachi light to try my fusion 48 to see if it fits, sorry.
