Discovered the output of my Freedom was very dim, despite being fine a few days before. I figured the switch got pressed on while sitting in my pocket, therefore draining the batteries. However when I went to replace the batteries with known good ones, the output was still quite dim and it stayed on even when pressing the switch. I thought this was just a chance abnormality and sent it in to Photon where it got repaired or replaced and new one was fine. However I then try to replace the batteries on girlfriend's Freedom which also was very dim, I got the exact same phenomenon. I even tried multiple sets of batteries and measured the voltage of batteries (about 3.2-3.25V) to make sure they were ok.
Anybody else experience something like this? Did the circuit board die? This has me questioning the reliability of the device and it's use for a dependable emergency light should the need arise.
