Man oh man this stuff is so confusing.

So i had an E1B and loved it. But, i lost it. I cannot stomach spending $150 on a light that i had originally purchased for $110.

I bought a AA2 quark, mostly for work, but i hate it.

I want a light that:

has good throw

uses 123s (thinking about going rechargable)

EDC

front jeans pocket

forward clicky with momentary

button is protected from being inadvertantly clicked on (tailstand?)

robust

not more than $100

I have learned that lumens means nothing, as there seems to be little standardization between brands.

there are so many different emittors that are used for different purposes that they just confuse the heck out of me.

what i liked about the E1B:

robust

decent throw (but there is never enough throw)

small

deep(ish) pocket carry

what i disliked about the E1B:

the UI.

What i like about the AA2 Quark:

i love the UI

what i hate about the AA2 Quark:

Feels flimsy

forward clicky gets inadvertantly turned on. i had to protect it whith a piece of tygon tube slipped over the end of the light.

little throw compared to the E1B.

too much of the light is out of pocket (above the clip)

i actually bought the single AA light but it kept falling out of my pocket (not enough anchor, so i purchased the double AA tube)

clip bends and does not spring back

I would prefer to have a shorter light (single 123?)

I was looking at the D-mini, but the last post i read said that the emitter was upgraded and therefore lost most of its throw.

I was also looking at the nitecor extreme and jetbeam rrt-0, and also the eagletac T10c(but it seems to be out of stock everywhere)

the more i read, the more frustrated i get.

sorry for this being so long, but i figure the more detail the better.

thanks in advance for your suggestions
