The 1x123 with an L4 head is about 3 3/4", the 2x123 with L4 head is about 5". Hope that helps.

I seem to recall using an extension tube that would accept 3x123 and a KL1. I think I remeber that the KL1 started flashing. So, I turned it off and never tried it again.
But, maybe you have better experience or knowledge.
