I finally got a chance to actually try out my new Olight M31 while hunting. The beam is certainly sufficient for the range of the .458 Socom I am using it on. So, Saturday night we sneak up to where we think there will be some hogs, and sure enough, I've got one spotted.

I pull the trigger, the hog goes down...and the light freaks out. It was like it was on a low strobe setting or something. Luckily we had other lights. When I turned it off then back on all was fine.

Did the recoil cause it to cycle? I hesitate to try again, but I guess I'll have to. Would a syrofoam insert under the tail switch spring help?
