Although the S2's approximately 7% brightness increase over the R5 should be barely noticeable even in direct A-B comparisons, I was very pleasantly surprised when ceiling-bounce tests showed a small but noticeable increase in brightness along with a slightly warmer tint. Because I compared two of the new S2's against two of the older R5's I suspect this was not a fluke.

I bought only one of the XPG Warm-White 123x2's so mine may not have not representative of the series. I found the color a bit too "warm" (low K temp) for my taste, though this is a purely subjective judgment. However the unexpectedly severe drop in brightness (ceiling bounce) compared to all of my XPG R5 lights was a real disappointment.
