Led cooling

A long while back I asked why there are no flashlights made with the shape of say an Energizer Dolphin, but with the internals and functions of for example a TK40. That would be the light standing next to my bed rather than anything else. I was told its because of heat issues. The lights are only made of plastic/rubber etc.



But I've seen examples of Coleman. Its a pistolgrip light, but surely that light is also made of plastic? Headlamps also. You get very powerfull ones in a very compact very light package. Howcome heat is not an issue in them? How are the heat released in the Coleman and the powerfull headlamps? The headlamps are not hold in your hand for cooling it.
