Try solving this puzzle. Wrote by Einstein who said that 98% of the worlds population would not be able to solve this brainteaser.

There are 5 houses, each is a different colour
In each house lives a person of a different nationality.
These 5 owners all drink a certain beverage, smoke a certain brand of cigar and keep a certain pet.
No owner has the same pet, smokes the same brand of cigar or drinks the same drink as another owner.

1: The Briton lives in a red house.
2: The Swede keeps dogs as pets
3: The Dane drinks tea
4: The green house is on the left of the white house (they are also next door to each other)
5: The green house owner drinks coffee
6: The person who smokes Pall Mall rears birds
7: The owner of the yellow house smokes Dunhill
8: The man living in the house right in the center drinks milk
9: The Norwegian lives in the first house
10: The man who smokes Blend lives next to the one who keeps cats
11: The man who keeps horses lives next to the man who smokes Dunhill
12: The owner who smokes Blue Master drinks beer
13: The German smokes Prince
14: The Norwegian lives next to the blue house
15: The man who smokes Blend has a neighbor who drinks water.

The question is: WHO KEEPS FISH?

good luck.

Well, there are five variables, each of which has five possible values. Hmmm. Where to go from here. Hmmm. I guess I'm part of the 98%.

You can solve it by making a matrix and filling in the boxes:

<font class="small">Code:</font><hr /><pre>
Briton Swede Dane Norwegian German
beverage : : : : : :
cigar : : : : : :
drink : : : : : :
pet : : : : : :
house : : : : : :
</pre><hr />

I don't have the patience to fill it in at the moment. My niece brought home the puzzle (worded differently) and I helped her get it.

I have solved this one. It is quite challenging but still not too hard if you are willing to spend some time.

Yes I am. Cut 25 pieces of paper and write the 25 words on it. Then put the ones together as discribed in the story. After that you have to make the links. It took me 30 minutes, the man who keeps fish lives in the country next to mine.

I'm hardly brilliant or anything, but if this is all it takes to weed out 98% of the population... Geez, we all should be much better paid!

Here\'s Another

Assume that we have a rope tied around the earth at the equator..buy that?

The boss man comes along and says that he wants the rope raised one foot off of the equator all the way around.

First Question.....how much rope will you have to splice into the rope to raise it one foot off the equator?

Second Question...same problem but we now have a string around a basketball. How much string will you have to splice in to get the string one foot off the basketball?
