I'm thinking of purchasing one of Streamlights SL-20X but I can't tell by the description how the switch operates or where it is located. All I can see is the charge connection.

I have no experience with this duty light so can someone please enlighten me?

The Sl-20X switch incorporates not only the switch, but also the recharge circuitry. The switch itself is recangular, positioned just below the head assembly.

Go here: http://photos.yahoo.com/b90a

And click on the DUTY LIGHTS folder, the SL-20X is second from the left in the pic

Dano,

Is it a 3 way switch; constant on, momentary, off?
Do you push down on the switch or slide it forward and backwards?

I guess I'm trying to determine if it will work as a large tactical light.

It's a push-button. Slight pressure will yield momentary on/off, and more pressure will make it click-on.

Back in the day, I used it during night qualifications with little difficulty, and w/proper technique.
