I just measured the current draw on my (200 lumen E2DL) with fresh Surefire 123A cells. I used my Fluke 77 series 2 meter to make this measurement. The current on high is 750ma, on low its about 30ma. I have had this light since 11-2-10 with original cells. Last night I used it a little bit before going to bed, it was working just fine. This morning it would only go into low mode. When I got to work I checked both cells open voltage and they both measured about 2.83v. I then checked them each under load with a 10 ohm resistor. One of the cells went to about 2.50v the other 1.30v. I have not used this light on high mode very much with the original cells! I used the high mode for 5 minutes at most, the low mode maybe 10 minutes. I guess even with surefire cells there are defect ones.
