I've been around here for ~2.5 years, have bought more than a few lights in that time and never once have I seen an LED with a pure white beam. Every since one I've ever seen has a tint when shone on a white wall even my 140CGT. So my question is this, have I just been unlucky or are people using this term to describe lights that are close to white?

Whenever I hear descriptions of a pure white tint I think of people on knife forums describing their knives as hair splitting sharp. Can a knife be sharp enough to split a hair? Sure, and I even finally managed to do it. But does any one who actually uses their knives keep them in that condition, I highly doubt it.
