If money were not object at all, what lights would you own?
Let's say Bill Gates is picking up the tab for you.
List your top three choices or so.

I would take the Kumkang,
the /Surefire 10x Dominator,
and either an M6 or M3T. Okay... both if Bill is paying. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Also the Bat Signal, if it's still available.

The same I have now, maybe just in multiples,

plus:

an X990

a flak search-light

lotsa lasers, if you count them in this category. Pointers, LAMs, stronger ones (for cutting and such).

And as Gates is footing the bill I'd buy a CNC machine and design some of my own, along with other stuff /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Oh, and a warehouse full of 123As /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

One of these would do just fine.

Lessee...

An M6 for the glovebox and another one in the center console just to hold spare batteries and LA. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif I'd also buy a ton of L4's and just leave them laying around the house, garage, backyard, etc in case I ever find myself without an EDC and need some light...

I'd buy all kinds of InRetech multi-luxeon mag drop-ins for my friends' crappy mags... Actually if money were no object I'd BUY maglite and kick their R&D department in the arse (or more accurately, I'd create one as they don't seem to have one anymore).

Other than that I'd have all kinds of stuff made custom for me - rechargeable Li-Ion HID's, N-cell based luxeon keychain lights with R ranked luxeons or better driven by circuits similar to the Photon III's, rechargeable Li-ion version of the same, etc. Then I'd figure out a way to buy a cargo ship full of those 3.6v Lithium "C" and "D" cells from Saft(??) and use them in some custom made 5w (or heck, HID) lights. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Actually, looking over this list, it all seems pretty reasonable. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinser2.gif

Do you suppose Bill is watching? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink2.gif
Maybe he's feeling generous. Better get those wish lists in, just in case.

My choice: Spectrolab CHIS; Light Force HID with MPXL DL50; my own light with a custom made Zerodur 12" reflector with swappable Perkin-Elmar XM 500-7HS, HLX64633 or 64640. The whole thing housed in a titanium alloy body with nitride surface treatment. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif Power source? How about some of these fuel cells that they use in cars? And oh, while we are at it , why not a VW Tourag with V10 diesel to move all these gear arround?

I would have a:
Silver MR-X.
Streamlight Propolymer 3 C LED
Responder 4 AA w/EverLED

I would like to see a 5W luxeon in the reflector of that 800Mcp spotlight.

Hello RevDavid,

I would get a 10X and have the low beam modified with a L4.

gadgetnut, do you have a lumen value on the 800 Million Candle Power light?

I'm sure the computation isn't this simple, but it should get you in the rough ballpark.

Assume McCulloch X990 = 7,000,000 cp and 3,200 lumen.

Extrapolating assuming similar beam geometry and characteristics to roughly 100x or 320,000 lumen.
