Fenix TK30 or TK45?

My needs are to walk in the pitch black through the woods and golf course with my dog in the mornings. I'll need the light to watch where I am walking but also keep on the lookout for Black Bears that could be on the golf course or in the adjacent woods.

Both lights are in transit to me. At this time I'm only going to keep one. I'm okay with Lithium Ion batteries (AW's or Redilast and the Pila charger with a voltmeter) so the TK30 is back on the table.

I looked at the side to side beam shots of each light at high and one below high level using the site below:

My concern is that the broader beamshot of the TK45 may disorient my eyes a bit and not allow me to focus in on a bear in the woods whereas the more focused beamshot of the TK30 may penetrate the trees better. I know the UI of the TK30 isn't ideal as I'd primarily use 175 and 630 lumens instead of the adjacent Search mode lumens of 100 and 630.

Need to make a decision by Monday/Tuesday. Thoughts of owners?
