Hi all!
I was given an older(?) G2 (threaded lens retaining ring with notches) to troubleshoot the tailcap...It momentary function is lost and the tailcap works a twistie
I found a locking washer and a crush washer inside the tailcap around the main part that had tool marks on it. Spring was almost crushed but still working. Now the light has gone through 3 hands already (military ones too).
I went ahead and removed the two ring and now the tailcap works fine albeit a bit wobbly (have already found an old thread on fixing that).
To sum it all up, I am sure that the locking and crush washers were installed from one of the users. (for what reason who knows?). I just wanting to check this with you. No pics I have seen show these.
