Hello and thank you in advance for your patience with an illumination newbie. I am looking for an every day carry light that can also serve as a self defense aid, to buy me time to draw a carry weapon or make a hasty departure.
Am I kidding myself that the strobe function would be more effective than a simple bright beam to an evil doer standing about 10 feet from me? This is an important question, because if the strobe is indeed more effective than a simple beam, then I have to select a flashlight with a user interface that will give me hight power strobe with one click.
I am currently focusing on Quark 123 2 and Fenix PD30. I also have access to a Quark AA, but this does not seem to be in the same power class as the first two.
