Did a search and not much discussion on the TK50, I'm guessing cuz it isn't quite on the horizon yet.....well, not until now that is.
A popular dealer has announced an ETA on the TK50 and published the marketing collateral on their site. Wow. 31Kcd hotspot - and an XP-G in such a gigantic reflector is going to make the TK50 have some SERIOUS throw.
D cells are new to me too, haven't seen them in this setup yet. Finally we don't have to go to Magmods for a long-running, primary cell light. The bad thing though, is that alkalines leak and such a light left unattended could be a problem.. plus it has parasitic draw.
Still, if you're off on a long adventure and you need a long throw light, it looks good.... wonder how it will do on D NiMH. 20 days of 4 lumens is a LONG runtime!
