any danger of it melting with a kpr 103? i notice that the kpr103 bulb feels a lot hotter than the stock halogen bulb.

Hi all,

I wouldn't leave the light on for hours. But I've had a Tec 40 on for 20-30 min with KPR103 and GP1800's no prob.

And no I'm not planning on doing the test... ;-)

I answered this on the other thread, but I've burned dots in the lens using KPR103. The Whitestar 3 cell bulbs I've gotten are shorter, and don't seem to do this.

Where do you get the Whitestar bulbs, and how do they compare with the KPR103s?
I've got a couple of spare KPR103s for my Mag, and have a pair of Tec40s on the way to try out.
May end up getting 15-20 of them for Christmas presents if I like them, and if the aftermarket bulbs make a noticeable difference, maybe they would be worth getting, too. Or at least I could tell people where to get them if they want spares...
Thanks.

Owen,

I've gotten them at ****'s Sporting Goods, but I don't know if they have any stores in AL. They're made by Maglite, though, so they shouldn't be too hard to find. They're performance is comparable to KPR103.
