How many 3aa to D cell for my 6D ROP Mod

Have done many searches here for this but I just cant seem to dig out the answer Im looking for: with a six D cell mag light with the Pelican 3854 High bulb installed, how many 3aa adapter cells (e.g. 4.5 volts/adapter) can I safely use without the bulb failing?
