My wife and son have their heart set on getting a cat, but are both allergic to cats in general. Through extensive research, my wife has found that the Devon Rex doesn't have the protien in it's saliva that causes allergies. But, the Devon Rex is an extremely expensive cat. Kittens start at $750 and up. We have been looking for rescues and older cats, but have not found any pure bred cats that are up for adoption. (A mix will likely have more allergens than a pure bred Rex.)
Does anyone know of a family that has a Devon Rex that needs a loving home? Or, know of an animal that has been rescued, or is in need of rescue? We would be willing to drive to anywhere in Georgia, Florida, Alabama, the Carolinas, Tennessee or Mississippi to pick up the cat in person. Maybe further for the right cat.
