I just thought of a crazy idea. I need you guys to tell me whether it's crazy before I actually shell out for $ to do it 
I am aware the old KL1s have a buck/boost converter to drive a single Lux1 at 350mA. However, if this is a boost topology as well, couldn't I theoretically install three XP-Gs on a series 20mm star? It would boost 2 x R123 to the 11+ volts needed by the XP-Gs. I'd like to keep the stock driver.
