Hello folks, and thank you for such a great place to learn.
My wife Julie and I are retired and live in the Maine out back ( the bush )
I guess it's no darker here than any place else Eh.
I am in L.E.D flashlight research overload and need a little help.
May I please explain my needs and what I have settled on as a light.
I am very open to suggestions.
We have a good amount of Coyotes in the area and they are not shy.
I need to identify and light up a threat from at least 40 to 50 yards.
I need to tell the difference from a Coy dog and a cat, from a human bending down, My eyes are good and not a factor.
I would like a light pattern of at least a 20 foot circle at 40 to 50 yards.
I have been looking at the Fenix LD20 R4 2AA.
I think the run time Spec. are OK for me. 105 Lum. for 5 hours, and then the high mode of 205 Lum. for an hour or so.
I plan on using the Sanyo Eneloop AA batteries and a La Cross 700 charger.
So my question is: Will this light let me do what I need to do ?
Can it reach out to 50 yards and be bright enough to see well ?
If it is any help we have a Mag light 2D cell with the LED bulb.
It gives enough light for our needs but is just to heavy for us.
We don't have to much money to spend and, I was hopping the LD20 R4 2AA
would work.
