I got my Mini-X today and when I set it down next to my Catapult V2 I was amazed. :huh:
Looks like the MiniX would fit in the reflector of the Catapult.
It's hard to believe that it's the same LED in both lights.
Some observations:
The Cat is a big, heavy light with lots of throw. Definitely not a pocket light. Tight hot spot with a greenish tint around it. There's a thin white ring around the tint.
The MiniX is small. I know some people will like it for that reason, but I think I prefer something a little larger. My Tri-EDC is an inch longer and a little thicker, but it fits my hand better and it's a lot brighter. The hot spot on the MiniX is not as sharp as the Cat's and on the ceiling the green is not as noticeable, but it is there. No rings.
The glass in both lights is crystal clear and the reflectors are spotless. Fit and finish is good and the lettering is clear and just the right size.
Outside in real life, the tint and rings are not evident.
