So, all I need to know is if there are any glaring reasons why someone would specifically not mount a AA battery powered flashlight on a rifle and use it as a weapon light. The reason I ask is because I have yet to see somebody do it, and it seems that every manufacturer making tactical weapon lights is using CR123A batts.

Basically, I have an LD20. I could mount it on my rifle using a Viking Tactical light mount (http://lmgtfy.com/?q=viking+tactics+light+mount) . Is there any reasons why this would be bad (BESIDES THE FACT THAT IT ISN'T A SUREFIRE!!!!:hairpull:)

I'm a pretty big fenix fan, and I like the value of their products, so if any of you think that there is a definite better choice over the LD20 as well go right ahead and chip in. Although if it's a Surefire you can bet that I won't be buying it because they just don't seem to have the best cost to performance ratio... No I'm not starting a fight...:tsk:

Thanks everybody, this forum seems like a great place to learn about lights.
