My first requirement is quality I love things that are well made. Unfortunately I live in the Mediterranean on a boat so have no opportunity to shop around and feel the quality of light I am purchasing. It will be ordered on the internet, so I am hoping for advice.

Other requirements are :

Tough

LED

Long throw (for picking out mooring buoys etc)

Preferably 18650 lithium batteries

Size is unimportant, big is fine, as it will live on the boat.

Given my primary concern of quality of construction I have been looking at Surefire which seem the most highly regarded of the production lights, but their models seem a bit too small for my long throw requirements. Similarly the custom made limited edition lights, while things of beauty, are smaller with less throw than I need.

Fenix seem the next brand (slightly down in quality from Surefire,( is this correct??) and the new TK 35 would seem to fit bill, but I would appreciate any alternatives. A plastic battery holder and end cap don't quite fit in with the ultimate quality of construction.

Any other suggestions ?
