My aged parents need a new torch but where to begin?

My parents saw my MG PLI from Shining Beam and were blown away by how much light was produced by such a small torch. They are looking for a torch to help them cross the road at night and walk along dark paths so a good flood rather than a thrower is needed. However my MG PLI is a little expensive and at 700 lumens more powerful that they need. They would rather have a longer battery life for example and REAL ease of use. By that I mean either it is on or off with a very easy to use switch, easy to remove the batteries and easy to recharge them with, ideally, AA or possible CR123A type.



What would you recommend for people in their 80's ??
