Sold/Expired SOLD: yard Sweeper Turbo Triple XM-L With Nuke Mode >4000 Lumens

This light is similar to my previous yard Sweeper Turbos in that it uses beefy Copper heat sink Triple leds such as this one done on Tri SST-50.

Ive wanted to make one for mag C have a Nuke mode for some time,

if any of you plays Modern warfare 2 online, you know when you hit Nuke button, it's game Over!:devil:



The light runs on High at 2.8 Amp through 3 XM-L T6, ~3000 lumens.



When you hit the Nuke Mode, it overdrives the led pumping 4.6Amp through all 3 leds, approximately 55w of raw power. 4000 lumens looks slightly brighter than the Triple SST-50 Turbo II, due to the higher efficiency of the XM-L T6.



Specs:

• Mag 3C host bored by Jesus Hernandus to fit 26mm AW IMR C cell
• Tail cap de-annoed spring recessed to accept 3xAWIMR 26500
• Machined Aluminum spring cap installed to make good electrical contact
• Triple XML-T6 , pure white tint, no greens what's so ever, wired in series using 22AWG silver coated copper Teflon wires.
• 0.15 Ohm/5W power resistor wired inline to reduce Direct Drive current to 4.6A MAx
• Mag C Switch Momentary mod (pain in the butt) done by Nailbender
• Task LED D2Flex PWM control board wired to provide 8 levels of light

Operation:

• When you turn it on, it'll default to the last mode before it went off last time
• Press hold the button, the light will ramp up or down go through all the levels gradually, release when you see the level you want.

• From Off, if you hold the on Button won;t let go, itll go to low first Highest level, ie. the Nuke Mode.Or you could get to Nuke Mode by ramping up to the highest level.

• The Nuke Mode is the level 8 of the D2Flex, which is direct drive, pumps 4.6Amp with fresh IMR.

• The Nuke Mode is meant for short burst use only.

• Do not run more than 20 seconds at a time on Nuke mode, itll get extremely hot may damage the leds.

• However, at the Nuke Mode, it's brighter then the Tri SST-50 yard Sweeper Turbo II which was done on Mag 2D will Full body copper heat sinking

Can XM-L withstand 4.6Amp?

Yes, read this thread where it's been pushed over 5 Amp.

As Nuke Mode for 20 sec at a time, 4.6Amp is no problem.



Dos Donts

Do not Run Nuke mode for more than 20 at a time.

Do not Turn on the light leave on the table un attended or use as stand alone area light.

even at 2.8Amp, itll eventually get very hot may damage it.

Hold the light in your hands at all times, when the Mag head gets too hot to touch, its time to turn it off let it cool.



Rule of thumb: This light can withstand higher heat than your skin can,

as long as you can hold the head tolerate the heat, its safe.





Flaws.

There is a tiny minor Anno missing next to the switch button, hard to see.

I also mared one of the led lens a bit, so I added drop of Norland 61 over the doom to restore the optical clarity.

It had no impact to the beam you can hardly notice the norland. The beam is very nice.



Beam profile.

The beam is slightly more focused than the Tri-SS-T turbo II, due to slightly smaller die size. It's more focused/throwy , also a lot brighter than Ti MCE or Triple P7. You can see the beam profile in the photos below.

Beam shot about 50 ft away. You can see the beam is a good balance between

flood throw, not All flood/wall of light as seen on some Tri MCE/Tri P7 mods.
