NovaTac EDC Ultimate 60

Hey all. I recently picked up a used NovaTac EDC Ultimate 60, and I don't know much about it. I've done a search, and the history seems like it could be anything from a cheap knock off of an HDS light, to some fairly uncommon light made for the Marines, and most of the posts regarding the light are a few years old. Did anyone ever figure out what the story behind this light is?



Second, I don't understand how to work it. I know that sounds dumb, but it sounds like this is a multi level, programmable light and I don't have a manual for it. It turns on when I press the tailcap, and if I press and hold the tailcap it gets brighter, until I release it. Is this the normal, correct operation of the light?
