I am not sure if this is better suited here or in the batteries sub-forum (my apologies)...

I have never used Nailbender's stuff yet. I notice that many of the Nailbender drop-ins state a voltage range of 2.8V -X.X (as opposed to Malkoff's which hit direct-drive at ~3.4V in the M61). I am assuming that means they will run in regulation until they hit 2.8V.

My question is: Is it OK for my AW 17670's to be discharged to this level before I re-charge them? Or will the protection circuit kick in before it reaches this level? Is 2.8V too late by that point (ie, too hard on the batteries?)
