I have a Surefire E2DL (new 200 lumen model) and a Solarforce with a Deal Extreme Drop In (XR-E R2, rated at ~225 lumens).
The E2DL is much brighter. Not only does it throw further (expected, given the TIR optic) but a ceiling bounce reveals it's significantly brighter. I'm looking for a P60 drop in that will be closer in brightness.
Will a Solarforce drop in perform better than the DX drop in and closer to the E2DL? Or do I need to go more exotic like a Malkoff? I dont really want to spend $50 to $100 to outfit a $20 flashlight body. Im more interested in throw than flood.
