I kinda like my KL3 too, but the KL5 will have a custom reflector, making better use of the light. With the KL3, you are somewhat restricted in your choice of optics.

A modified PM6 reflector (dat2zip's shop) fits in there with a bit of Dremel work. Very tight beam, at least with a 1W high dome. I'll post some pics and beamshots later when I get some free time and the proper lens.

You can see it looks quite a bit different that the acutal production model.
IIRC, the prototype KL4 looks slightly different from the real thing as well, though the difference isn't quite as dramatic.

I hope the KL5 is "cooler" looking than the proto (maybe some fins?). That proto is kinda fugly to me.
