First DIY Bar Light

Good evening everyone. After spending several days flooding through information on the forum I believe that I may have a basic understanding of what is required to make my first light. I am looking for a flood light with a possible spot as well for commuting back and forth to work. I am looking for suggestions on the best possible combination of components for this task. I would like something that has several modes to allow at a minimum a low and high setting.



Any help is appreciated as I'm still having some difficulty distinguishing the different products. Please understand I am not an electrical engineer but rather a mechanical so I do have some basic electronics experience.
