I just got a very low priced brand new Nitecore SR3. I love everything of it but the beam. I believe if I replace the R2 emitter it has, then beam patten should be very smooth, and I decided to replace it with XP-G R5 which is widely available now. Here are couple of things I need your help with:
1) Original design is compatible with CR123 and 18650 battery. So I assume the working voltage is at least from 3.0v - 4.2v, maybe even lower since one CR123 won't keep at 3v all the way. So,
2) I can just replace the emitter to R5 without changing driver, right? As many R5 lights runs on one AA has the working volt range at 0.8v - 4.2v.
3) If it is so, where I can buy the emitter ? Or, if it is not so,
4) Do I need to buy driver for R5 too? Where to buy then?
Thanks for your help.
