I have an LED single aaa battery powered walmart special, I think it's a dorcy. Problem is after a couple of years it is corroding and needs to be cleaned often to get it to work. I carry it in a belt sheath along with a swiss army knife. Second problem with it is it has a button on the base so I have to loosen both the lens side and the base to make sure it doesn't fire up.

My solitaire from maglight is a power hungry unit and sits in a drawer.

I have been reading and have, so far, read about fenix ld01 , peak matterhorn single led, arc aaa, and a sonic made by gerber now.

My criteria that is most important is run time. I do have a petzel tikka that I use on the trails that I love but only use that for walking and I need an edc that I use quite often but can still function as a reliable light source. I was using the dorcy alot but after the problems with it not always turning on I really need something better.
