So I'm gassing for a 'monster' light, which means getting into a new lithium rechargeable setup. I have no current hardware investment so I can choose any format I like.

I occasionally use my iPhone to record jam sessions etc and it occurred to me that if I'm going to carry around a flashlight (and most probably a charged spare battery) it would be nice to be able to use some of that juice to keep the phone going all night if I need to.

So the obvious question is, is there a particular battery format that has accessories like a USB adaptor available off-the-shelf (as well as some decent lights that use it)? If not, what would be the better options for homebrewing something? I guess the Maelstrom S12 is an unlikely candidate as the 26650 batteries are only 4v and would need stepping up to 5v for USB. The EagleTAC M3C4 uses 18650's, again 4v cells but used in pairs which makes it a bit easier to knock up a regulated 5v output.

Any suggestions?
