PD20 R5 with RCR123A rechargable's???

Just received my Fenix PD20 R5, stuck my usual RCR123 rechargeable, which i normally use with all my other flashlights, and :sick2: got only 2 working modes which are turbo/high. At first though that the flashlight might be defective - contacted Fenix. Turns out RCR123 when fully charged gives ~4.2V, PD20 has a protection thing where it locks out all the modes till battery voltage drops to ~3V.

Since i rarely use any other modes what advantages and disadvantages might i get?

Will LED life be reduced due to higher voltage?

Hard to tell but is it brighter when im giving it 30% more power???

When using your RCR123, does it squeeze out increased lumens on your PD20?
