Can a LED be driven harder than its Direct Drive value?

The question is if one can drive any LED harder (with the help of a driver) than when it is connected Direct Drive



Is the DD values an absolute max?



I have some lower bin XM-L that are driven at 2.5A when DDed....So I am trying to make use of them.
