We have a 3D LED Maglite, the newer model with the Luxeon 3W LED, with a bad emitter. My father-in-law was modifying it to accept an external battery pack so he could use the head only and applied too much voltage to the led. We'd like to replace the emitter, but can't figure out how to remove it. There appears to be a snap ring holding it in place, but it doesn't some out easily.
Are there any photos or instructions of how to do this. We'd like to replace it with something at least as bright, but with a warmer color temperature if possible.
