New to the forum, and to custom lights

I am new to custom flashlights and don't know much. I have a surefire E2L and wondered how to make it brighter, and that is how I stumbled across this site. Where do you guys find your parts like tubing, switches lenses and etc? I found the LUX-RC light engines to be interesting but have no idea how or what to stick it in. Thanks
