So my searching skills leave something to be desired, but I recall someone asking if the latest M91Ts behave similarly to recent M91Bs and will run below the specs currently listed on the malkoffdevices site. I've been running a recently-acquired M91T on an 18650, and it behaves very similarly to my M91BN, which is to say it runs fine albeit at diminished output compared to 2x18650. Haven't tried a runtime test in this config but guessing it would perform similar to the M91BN on a single 18650?

That could have been me! Thanks very much that is interesting to hear. I was mostly curious to know if I could get one to start on 2xAA in a pinch but my 3-cell M952 and MDM4 will be here tonight so I'll find out soon enough! Unfortunately that probably means no-go on 2x CR123 but that's not the worst thing in the world.

Got her running off 2xAA alkaline now, so yes, and a surprising amount of punch in a pinch at that!

I think my M91B from the second group buy has become my most used evening light for outdoor use. MD2, 22.3mm with hi/low ring, a single 18650 cell. Low is perfect for walking around the yard, high is perfect for lighting up everything within 100 yards. Not as throwy as the 18650 Hound Dog, not as broad a beam as my old Wildcat. A perfect compromise.
The TK20. Yes, it still rocks- WoodsWalker

Funny running it on DD out of regulation it still performs as well (perhaps better) than many similar lights. Really incredible dropin. Next GB I want one that is HCRI. LH351D 5000K/ 5700K would be perfect.

Does anyone own a M91 from the 1st and the 2nd group buy? I think the 2nd run has different emitters. How do they compare?

Depends on what one you got out of the second run. First run was a beautiful perfect tint. Best Malkoff I have. The second run had a few that had a pinkish tint and others were more white In them. Imo first run was the best. Perfect in every way.

I have both from the first run and I totally agree that they are very beautiful lights.

Seems that we were really lucky. Such a group buy is alway kind of a lottery. You do not know what it will look like but you have to take it. A HiCRi M91 would be tempting, though.
