Am thinking Christmas gifts here. From reading specs, it appears the T2 is more rugged and has garnered good reviews here but the 3AA doesn't seem that bad and is much cheaper, particularly as a Christmas gift to a non CPF family member. How is brightness between the two? Surely the 3AA Luxeon must be better then a CMG Reactor.

SL 3AA is really a nice light,a little long but not bad.I really like mine especially with a Kroll tail switch. Its one of the best lights available for the money.Nice white beam with good throw and sufficent spill for walking.Still on the first set of batteries so I can't comment on runtime.

3AA Lux is a great light for the bucks, Great throw, less side spill than the TL-2 LED.

The TL-2 has a VERY tightly focused, uniform beam. Of course more compact.

I use the 3AA more simply because of the cheap batteries.
