Hi all!

I decided to mod again my beloved Red FM 2.25 mag with throwmaster reflector which I had previously moded for use with a SSC P7 Led thread can be found here:

http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?196283

Anyway The Cree XM-L focuses awesome on it it has a very nice and intense hotspot that is about half the size of the Eagletac M3C4 XM-L and more intense, No donut hole! I am very pleased with it and is my current light for things that bump in the night.

Here is a pic comparing the Eagletac M3C4 XM-L on the left and the modified XM-L with a Throwmaster reflector on the right, both are set on maximum power, distance to the shop doors is about 120 ft.

Hi Ergotelis, I do not have a luxmeter but if you google the Eagletac results this mod is about 40-50% brighter to my eyes! it pwns the M3C4 XM-L in throw!

I used KD super output SSC P7 board found here:

http://www.kaidomain.com/ProductDetails.aspx?ProductId=1866

I had to enlarge the FM throwmaster reflector opening to 1/2 inch using a step drill, not that hard to do just be careful.

The led is the CSSHIH XM-L, T6, 1C tint in 12.8mm board found here:

http://www.cpfmarketplace.com/mp/sh...nation-Supply-7135-Drivers-XM-L-LEDs-and-More!

The heatsink I used is the Britelumens deluxe mag C heatsink, It is a massive sucker! it keeps the led nice and cool. Its the $14 one found here:

http://www.britelumens.com/emittersandparts.html

And the host is the FM 2.25 Mag C posted in the thread at the beginning.

The Britelumens Heat sinks are thicker than I thought. I just got through putting my old "beater" Maglite 2D/3C together with Britelumens Deluxe heat sink, Illumination Supply XM-L and a pair of 1.4A drivers. I'm getting right at 3 amps at the tail on 3 Accuevolution C cells. This thing is BRIGHT and throws better with the standard reflector than my P7 did with a Mag Rebel reflector. I would love to do another in a throwmaster head!
