coast p7 battery question

hey guys i purchased a coast p7 light from ebay a few months ago and it calls for regular alkaline AAA batteries my question is would i be able to use lithium batteries . They say not to use rechargeables thanks in advance

rechargeables are fine 1.2v (eneloops, energizers) just dont use the Li-ion rechargeables which are 3.7v-4.2v.

THe lithium AAA batteries are not rechargeable. THey have a slightly higher voltage, 1.7 instead of 1.5-and most important - they don't leak acid! The slightly higher voltage almost never causes a problem. You may be confusing these for li-ion batteries, which are rechargeable- and are 3.7 volts.
THey are lithium-ion, different than just plain lithium.
