Hello, I'm trying to find an optic to operate a CREE XPG so that the output is near identical to that of a E1B backup. Its based on a friends request and I'm out of ideas on where to find such an optic. Any ideas?

What size optic are you looking for? Can you post a beam shot of what you are looking for? I built one light that I had to modify an optic meant for a K2 TFFC and am using it with an XP-G R5 that has a nice round hotspot that transitions into a nice spill beam that isn't too bright. The problem is that the optic is 27mm in diameter and you'd need an XP-G mounted to an 8mm board then have it sit on a riser to focus it unless you cut the pedestal away like I did.

well, gee...cpf forgot to suscribe this thread for me...

ones that can fit a regular 20mm star, identical projection as the E1B. A medium wide spill, with a nice round hotspot that is significantly brighter than the spill. I have tried on several Carclo, Khatod, Regina, and ledlil optics, none seems to be able to produce the output like the E1B.
