im building a good sized malkoff/battery lego system and I was wondering if I Purchased some 18650's I could do this set up correct?

Md2- 1x 18650 (3.7v)
Md3- 1x 18650 + dummy cell (3.7v)
Md4- 2x 18650 (7.4v?)

this would be the correct lego system for m61 modules and malkoff bodies I believe.

You cannot run a m61 on 4x cr123 right...the voltage (12v) would be to high for it? but 2x 18650 is just right at 7.4v?

Yes.

You may want to do 2x14500 in the MD3 as you won't need a spacer then. I don't know if 18500s exist but if they do that's even better.

You might also want to calculate a Li-ion as 4.2V as that's what a fully charged cell reads on the meter. In either case, using up to 3x CR123 or 2x Li-ion are fine for the M61.
