Hi there, totally new to this site, not that I have a lot of time to spare but love flashlights so thought to give it a go. One thing that erks me is the fact that I have my own theory on light brightness. One I aspect of lighting I call 'brightness' which refers to how far a beam is projected and the other aspect is 'lightness' refering to all the light that the light gives or overlal illumination. I see many lights that offer good amounts of light but people are concerned when they see various specs stating distances only to find there is a difference between brightness and lightness. Mnay of the lights I am seeing now are great for lightness but not that great on brightness or distance and for me personally distance is king (but that is just me). I have just ordered my Quark Mini 123 and will then decide how good this light is. Many people are testing this light but while they name it the Quark Mini 123 most of the tests are done of the MiniX which boasts a 210 lumens versus the actual Quark Mini 123 at 135 lumens. I have heard all the rave of these 4 Sevens lighst but I wonder if it is all hype and will make that determination when I see my Mini 123 and from there buy more to experiment with. Some testers are raving about the packaging and all that gear but reality is it is the light itself which has to meet all stated specs and expectations for it to get a real thumbs up. Packaging is nothing and even accessories are not the real issue it is always the light itself. I personally have yet to see a 1 x 123 light better than the Insight Tech HX120.
