I haven't visited this forum in years but I dropped my EDC Ultimate 60GT on a wood floor and now it won't turn on. I've pulled the battery for several minutes and when reinserted the light comes on for 1 second as it should when you do a soft reset, but clicking the switch does nothing. The light does not appear to do a hard reset because it will not light brightly if the switch is pressed and held when the light comes on during the soft reset. It's as if the switch is faulty.

I don't know what else to try.

this happened to me too, on an HDS 170. Don't freak out.

When you put the battery in, does the light flash for just a second ?

take it apart and "blueprint" it. Clean the copper contacts, there's one at the back, I believe it is a spring that bears on the copper ring. Make sure there's good contact and the springs are putting tension on the battery.

Next, try a new or different battery.

I'm betting you'll find it's not broken.
