17. 3D silver maglite, modded with the 5 cree Q5
leds 1000-lumen white drop-in module, 5-mode Hi
manufacture claims (1000mA 1000LM) > Mid (600mA
400LM) > Lo (300mA 200LM) > Fast Strobe (400mA
600LM) > SOS (1000mA 1000LM), 3 to 8.4 volts, runs
on 2 Lithium batteries (use an appropriate pvc tube
for: 18650, 26650, A123, LiFePO4), pvc tube is not
included. Maglite was not modified, so can be
converted back by removing the drop-in and
installing the included maglite reflector/bulb.

The 5 XREs are EZ900 smaller die for 20% more throw than the older 5xQ5

2 were sold. 2 reaming P7 Mag are cheap,

Besides NiMh, they both run on 3D alkalines, theses are mint but useful as real tools rather than just shelf queens.

What is the voltage range on the mags? Can they run on 2X 18650?

Both are 4.2V max, 1 Li-ion OK,

2 x18650 can be run, but in parallel 2P format only.

This adaptor will allow running 2P 18650, but you need a 2D mag body or battery spacer to use it in 3D.

Ma,
Got the lights today.
Can you provide a link to the 5 LED drop in that gives istructions on cycling thru the modes.
It seem to be real erratic once it gets in strobe mode and very difficult to get back to steady state.
I know it does SOS also.
It seems really sensitive when momemtary pressing switch to cycle.

There is no instruction. This in my friend's light & I didn't test it either.
But I have the same drop-in in a WF500 & it works fine with the reverse clicky.

The only thing I can think of is Mag switch has self-cleaning function that some times cause issue with multi-mode drivers due to switch bounce.

Are you able to switch mode with soft click, ie., click half way & release to cycle through modes? Then lock in the mode you want, night need to wait for 1-2 sec. between click down & release, a trick to defeat switch bounce.
