I hunted the rare white wall this afternoon, and thought I'd share. Today's contenders: The XP-G and XP-E versions of iTP's A3 EOS.

On the left is the XP-G; on the right, the XP-E. Both have the upgraded L-M-H mode order.

On the left: XP-G on high; on the right: XP-E on high.

Both had brand new alkalines. To my eyes, the hotspot appears to be roughly the same intensity, though the XP-G is somewhat larger. I quite like how the increased flux makes up for the bigger hotspot. In my opinion, it's an even more useful light with the XP-G.

As this is only a beam profile comparison, I shot the photos on auto with my cell phone. The colours are fairly accurate to how I see them with my eye. The XP-E has a somewhat warmer tint than the XP-G, but I expect that's simply a bin lottery issue, not a difference in design.
