My poor thread is dieing disappearing way down the list - so I thought I would give him a bump and say I have heard that the M3C4 is a wall/flood of light - I disagree! I'd say it holds it self up against 4 other lights putting out between 1400-3500 lumen's Vs 1000.

WOW!!!! I'm surprised that no one has made a mention on this thread- these are fantastic comparison shots- a brillant reference with some excellent lights! That Microfire Patrol is a monster! Is it 35W? I was also very interested to see how the Septa went. How would you compare its output to Kenji's quad? I also see you have it in a 26650 host. Is it running with an IMR? Is it DD? How does it handle the power? I'm running a DD 5.6A on a 18650IMR. Fantastic shots and thank you for taking them- it would have been a fair bit of work, but it's well worth it and most enjoyable! Cheers.

Thanks for your kind words guys, hope it helps you part with your cash :naughty: :D

Microfire patrol is a 35W, got mine from 4sevens and I must say its a brilliant light and it kills any led light for throw - it made me sell a 2500 lumen SST90 thrower that threw better than an SR90 - there is some guff on them here

Septa is not DD, its driven @ 9.8amps in a FM 26650 copper host with a FETtie switch and an IMR 26650 - it was tested in a sphere to have 2600+ lumens OTF - so it does eat the Kenji quad @ approx 1200 lumen's - quad is XPG 5.6amps 3 speed in an FM 26500 host with IMR 26500 battery and cryos head and FETtie switch. (BTW think I will sell my Kenji drop-in)

Septa head handles the heat really well, better than I thought it would - its the only led light I have had that if you hold bezel near your skin after about 7 seconds it burns you  I can take more shots of the Septa output if you want?

I take it that you like power.

These are really nice shots of some killer lights. I'm very impressed with the Quad and the Septa, the Microfire and the Electrolumens are impressively bright, but they're massive.

Yes I like power (silly me), and if you hang around here to long you will too - its a bug.......

yes they are big - I guess thats where the Septa comes in, you get the best of both worlds all be it a shorter run time (about 30min) and not quite as much throw.
All tho the FireSword looks big its not supper heavy and its well balanced (you have to hold one to understand - anyone at work that picks it up loves the feel/weight/balance) also its very tough you could almost hammer a nail in with it and it makes a great self defense light :twak: :touche: :whoopin: and @ $400 its 3000+ well spent lumen's compared to some of these lights and it manages heat really well.

I was wondering if your Kenji Quad was DD or regulated? Am a big fan of big lights, and have a few myself. I'm on the list for a multi mode Septa so seeing it in operation is fantastic- she looks like a real performer! Always love beamshots and the ones you're taking are high quality and relevent so please do more if your feel up to it. The triple XML did rather well however it's a pitty they didn't juice this one up- it could have been capable of so much more. What was the SST-90 you sold? Would be very hard to part with a 2500 lumens light. I have a VARAPOWER2000 and I'd part with my left arm first! Cheers!

It was a varapower, mine was 1 of 2 prototypes that was driven harder and took 4x D nmih, dome was removed and I had an FM 2.5" head for a very tight focus.
My kenji must be regulated if it's 5.6amps and a 3 speed.
When I get a little time I'll go shoot some more.

Great shots..... The septa is the bomb!

I am still waiting for a triple level version. I had a direct drive kenji quad that was brighter than my van quad but I sold it.

I did have a kenji quad DD and sold it also, also a Vanisle 3 speed copper 5.6amp quad but that went also to pay for the Septa along with one of my kidneys on eBay.

Well since you like the shots, any requests? Different angles, bounce, throw, wall hunters.

Love shots taken at specific distances of an object, usually standing alone so you can get a perspective of the flood around the object as well. Also something that is a constant size that we all can relate to. A car would be good but unfortunately the reflectors often throw the light characteristics out. The shots you took were pretty good- some of the best I've seen so you're on the money, so it's up to you. I'm going mad waiting for the Septa- I just hope it lives up to the hype I've built up around it in my mind!

I'll have to confess the secret to my shots is that many moons ago I was a quite a successful photographer, so it helps to understand light - but I gave it all up to be a carer for my beautiful wife (kathryn) who has MS and is wheelchair bound (she was a teacher and was able to teach our two girls at school, then home school them) I now work in security to make ends meet (the secret to my working in security is i'm 6'3 and 120kg :ironic: :ohgeez: ) so I do give my lights a good working out.
I do security on war ships, cruise ships, casino, art gallery, events, and I get to see all famous international bands that come through. All the guys at work call me "gadget man" as lights are only one thing that interest me - but I have sold off my older lights to my co workers and now we all go around zotting each other in the eyes (ha ha it's become a little tradition at work - I'm slowly turning them into flashaholics)
Hope you don't mind me sharing guys - cpf can be a bit of a front for only what we want others to know about us, and I like to hear how others live - interesting.

I actually enjoy hearing about other people and what they do- what's going on in their lives. I've found some of the most interesting people on this forum, and I don't know what it is about flashlights or collecting them as a hobby, but it appears to attract more than it's fair share of honest-to-good nice people. I've often thought about maybe getting into Security work, but at 5 foot 9 and 135kgs, I'm probably too short for my weight (LOL). The kind of lights you have would be a fantastic help in your work- a real edge. I surprised on looking around how many Police Officers and Security staff are using low powered Maglites or a weak incandescent light. You'd think if you were in the game checking out what is available in the work of Flashlights would of got your interest by now. I guess many go with what they're issued and don't think much more about it.... Back to your beamshots- does explain the quality, and further suggests that you do a few more!

Septa V's quad, I'll get on to it in the next few days & some spill shots (I'll have a think)

In security, size can help but the mouth is the best weapon IMO - aggression makes them aggressive back - make them your friend and they will do anything you ask (most times) then if that doesn't work you start to lean on them.
