AW RCR123 compatibility

Are the AW RCR123 batteries compatible with the Streamlight TLR-1s?

I really don't think. 2 x RCR123 would go up to 8,4V while 2 primaries would do 6V. I'm pretty sure the circuit can't handle 2,4V more. I would not even try, there's a big risk of frying the circuit.

So the 3V rechargeable should be ok then?

Those 3V are in fact a regular li-ion cell (3.7V-4,2V) with a resistor in it. Even if the nominal voltage is 3V, it often exeed 3,2 V. There is a possibility that the Streamlight circuit has a certain tolerance for exeeding voltage but I still think there is a danger of burning the circuit or damaging the led.
